Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) standout athlete Antone Exum has an important unofficial visit scheduled for this Friday, when he plans to head to Blacksburg for what will be his first ever visit to Virginia Tech. The 6-0, 210-pound rising senior is looking forward to visiting Tech, which was the first Division 1A program to extend him an official scholarship offer. more >>
Virginia Tech does not have much room to work with in terms of 2009 class scholarship spots, but in the end I still wouldn't be surprised if the total number of signees is around the mid-teens. The Tech coaches certainly like to emphasize the defensive side of the ball in every class and this class is no exception. In total, I'd expect the staff to land anywhere from nine to 12 players on the defensive side of the ball and on special teams. more >>

Several Virginia Tech signees got to know each other a little better this past Friday night in the VHSCA All-Star Game that was played in Hampton. In a game that was limited offensively thanks to outstanding defense and wet weather, one Hokie signee made the game-deciding play. more >>

Hermitage (Richmond, VA) captured a Central Region Championship before falling in the state semifinals last, but if the Panthers make a second consecutive state title run it will do so with a new starting signal caller. 6-3, 190-pound rising senior Theron Norman, a standout recruit who projects a wide receiver or safety on the next level, will take over the reigns as Coach Patrick Kane's starting quarterback in 2008. more >>

Virginia Tech was already lacking proven receivers for the 2008 season, but today they are in even worse shape than before. Rising r-junior Brandon Dillard ruptured his Achilles tendon on Tuesday while participating in a voluntary summer workout. The injury will require surgery, and Dillard will be out 4-6 months. more >>
Brookville (Lynchburg, VA) star Logan Thomas certainly is a hotly contested recruit, boasting 18 Division 1A scholarship offers, but he appears to be an even hotter commodity in the state of Virginia. Virginia and Virginia Tech are each recruiting the 6-6, 225-pound athlete extremely hard, with the Cavaliers receiving the most recent visit yesterday. more >>
